Even though I said I wasn’t going to, I decided on a second IVF cycle with a different clinic. Yay for home equity loans…. A couple couples we know had success with this clinic, so we’re hoping we will, too.
Things I’m not impressed with thus far: ordering inadequate quantities of meds, an unwieldy spreadsheet for the med schedule (we made our own calendar), seeing a doctor younger than I am (i.e., inexperienced) that’s only been there three (3!) weeks who doesn’t say the follicle measurements out loud, and being duped into thinking they would actually talk about my case as a group. (There’s not much you can change eight days into stimming, and, even if there were something, they’re not meeting on the weekend.)
I seem to be responding much as I did at Kaiser, so my body just doesn’t respond to the stimulation as well as it seems I should based on the initial antral follicle count (which was 11 and 9). (The case manager says it’s a good response for my AMH level and age, but more follicles equals higher success rate, and I’m not at risk of OHSS.) It looks like I might have nine follicles (5 and 4), of varying sizes, with one already at 18 mm. Going back in on Sunday to see if they want to trigger.
