I’m getting antsy, even though my egg retrieval is (probably) still 5 days away. I’m hoping tomorrow’s ultrasound shows continued progress. (I’m doing a lot of hoping. Every day.) So, I thought I’d mention medication, because that makes me feel like I get to do something today.
I haven’t had any negative side effects from the medications. The only bruise I’ve had from an injection was when the hubby pulled out the needle at a bad angle and it caught. My skin is normal (for the first time in my life instead of normal-for-me-oily). I’m extra tired, but I seem to be sleeping better at night. I have found myself wanting to cry (when I normally wouldn’t) a few different times. My belly is uncomfortable, and I have back pain on the right side, which translates to pain down my right leg. I imagine the discomfort/pain would be much worse if I were responding well to the medications and had more follicles.
The Menopur shot burns. Makes me whimper. We’re going to have to take it with us to do at my friend’s wedding reception tomorrow.
My stimulation medication schedule, anticipating no changes:
Days 1 and 2: Gonal-F 250 units (morning), Menopur 2 vials (evening), Lupron 5 units (evening)
Days 3 – 9: Gonal-F 150 units (morning), Menopur 2 vials (evening), Lupron 5 units (evening)
Day 10: Gonal-F 150 units if there’s enough left, else the 2 remaining vials of Menopur (morning), Ovidrel (TBD)
